Folklore Museum of Sinarades “Nikos Paktitis”, Corfu

The folklore Museum of Sinarades is situated to the southwest of Corfu, about 10 kilometers away from the town of Corfu. The museum was founded in 1982 under the aegis of the Historical-Folklore Society of Corfu whose founding member was Nikos Paktitis, that went to great efforts to promote folk culture within Corfu.

Nowadays, the museum is housed in a renovated house in the village of Sinarades and constitutes a two-storey building with exhibits, showcasing the everyday life, traditions and items of clothing of people, who lived between 1860-1960 on the island of Corfu.

There is also a permanent collection in the museum, presenting traditional furniture of that period, homemade kitchen equipment, musical instruments and many household tools.
